| Our mission is to creatively and collectively share ideas and inputs about how to make HealthBarn USA the best experience for all kids and their families. As founding council members, we lead by example and want to inspire other kids to live healthy through hands-on learning about making good choices for themselves, their families and the planet, too. And, most importantly, discovering that being healthy is fun! Follow Our Blog HERE

Samantha, Vice President, age 13, has been enthusiastically participating in HealthBarn USA programs since its first year in 2005; and now she assists during the Seedlings (ages 3-5) classes throughout the year. She is one of our expert taste testers since she has tried pretty much all of the recipes. Samantha loves being able to use the fresh picked produce from the garden in the recipes. At home, she eats dinner with her family and says her family always puts out a large plate of vegetables for everyone to eat (especially for her!). Samantha thinks being healthy is important and she wants other kids to think so, too because you will have more energy, and look and feel better. |

Sophia, Director of Activities, age 10, has been a summer camper (and her brother Jack, too!) for four years. When she first turned up at the barn she was a picky eater, but not anymore thanks to HealthBarn USA. She admits loving all the activities, but most of all, she thinks the connection between gardening and cooking healthy food is really cool. Sophia is a big fan of bringing the HealthBarn USA recipes home to share with her family because she says they taste really good. At home, she exercises and believes all kids should eat right and exercise so they can live longer and do fun and exciting things for their whole life. |

Stacey Antine, MS, RD, founder and CEO, teenager at heart, came up with the crazy idea of teaching kids about how to live healthy, and now the barn is thriving thanks to parents, schools and most importantly KIDS! Many CEO's sit at the computer all day, but not this one! She is one-of-a-kind because she works on the computer, goes to the garden and interacts with all of the HealthBarn USA kids. The best part about Stacey is that she's fun and she practices what she preaches. |
 |
Jamie, President, age 11, has been coming to the barn for the past two years and HealthBarn USA has changed his life. He wasn't sure about eating the recipes when he first arrived, but now he's the biggest advocate for trying different foods among the other kids. Jamie is passionate about being healthy and wants everyone else to be, too! The time in the garden is his favorite part of the programs, so much so that he has his own organic garden at home where he continues to eat healthy and exercise. Jamie feels that it is important to keep your inside healthy so that you can do all the activities that other kids can do. |

Lauren, Blog/Creative Director, age 10, has been coming to summer camp for 3 years (with her brother Jason, too!) and confesses that her top activity is getting to cook all of the recipes. She is willing to taste all the food prepared and believes it is important to at least try everything once. She also loves doing yoga, participating in relay races and visiting the petting zoo at the barn. At home, Lauren continues the HealthBarn USA mission by staying healthy and enjoying homemade fruit juice for breakfast. Along with her brother Jason, Lauren practices Tae Kwon Doe as a form of exercise and for family fun they all enjoy biking and swimming together. Lauren has learned through the barn that all kids should eat right, exercise and get enough sleep. She says "sleep is essential because without it, you are unfocused and tired." |

Carson, Family Fun Director, age 8, is relatively new to the barn with summer camp being his first experience. His smile and excitement for what's happening at HealthBarn USA and for making new friends is contagious! He loves learning and building things, so constructing a rain barrel for the garden was one of his favorite activities in addition to cooking and eating all of the recipes. At home, he likes to help his mom cook his favorite recipes and is active by being super busy. He's excited about being on the Council to come up with new ideas to get kids motivated about being healthy because it's fun. |
 |
Rachael, Marketing Director, age 15, is one of our more experienced members on the Council because she's officially a counselor in training (CIT) during summer camp. She has been coming to the barn since she was 12 years old and her favorite activity is cooking with vegetables she grows in the garden. At home, Rachael believes it is important to eat healthy and exercise at least one hour a day. She wants other kids to know that being healthy, eating right and exercising makes you feel and look better. It also gives you a lot of energy and makes you feel happier, too. |

Evan, Garden and Food Operations, age 11, has been coming to summer camp for three years, and he also participates in special events with Stacey. He was the chef for a HealthBarn USA food demonstration at the New York Suffern Farmers' Market and gave a speech to farmers at the Northeast Organic Farming Association (NOFA) about his barn experience, too. Evan loves the fact that kids have input into the daily activities at the barn. It is no surprise that his favorite activity at HealthBarn USA is the garden. He not only loves to pick the produce he helps grow, but he also enjoys the pruning and caretaking of green plants. In his free time, Evan loves to participate in football, karate and baseball. He makes sure to eat healthy foods, which he and his family buy at a local farm. Evan believes all kids should eat healthy and exercise so they can do any activity or sport to their full potential. |
