It’s garden time! The spring season is a great opportunity for our Healthy Chefs in Training at our new location: 1057 Hillcrest Road, Ridgewood, NJ. This fun, hands-on experience is a one-of-kind food and nutrition culinary opportunity for children to cook recipes from start-to-finish and learn about nutrition through fresh seasonal food. The program delivers the consensus of scientific evidence related to food and nutrition, physical activity and self esteem development through an authentic organic garden adventure in which children (and parents) gain the knowledge and skills essential for living a healthy-lifestyle.
The fall, winter, and spring Young Harvesters program follows an after school schedule (or Saturdays, too!). The 10-week curriculum is designed to create a solid foundation for healthy choices and then, puts his or her knowledge into action.
Can parents take a class, too? Absolutely! Register for the Nutrition Workshop Series covering weekly topics to help you create a healthy home with simple tips and recipes held during your child’s Harvesters class for an additional fee.
The program continues to generate positive feedback from children and parents:
- “HealthBarn USA is helping us too, not just my son, better understand about what we eat! We like that the parent workshops cover different topics and include food demonstrations because it makes it fun, easy to understand and we can actually see and taste the alternatives,” Jorge, super dad.
- “It’s more fun than regular school I wish I could come everyday,” Lauren, age 9
- “It takes a couple of seasons at HealthBarn USA to get used to eating natural foods most of the time, now I don’t even miss the other stuff!” Nick, age 10.
Transform your child into an adventurous healthy eater by supporting his or her culinary skills development both at the Barn House and at home!
