Our Favorite Recipes

Homemade Chicken Penicillin Soup

This immune-boosting Homemade Chicken Penicillin Soup is the best natural “medicine” for staying strong during flu season because it’s loaded with the antioxidant vitamins A and C.  We use skinless chicken breasts, low in fat and high in protein, but made flavorful and succulent by the variety of veggies that give this soup a big boost of flavor.  The whole grain spaghetti adds fiber, too.

Moms are talking about the HealthBarn USA Recipe Book, "My kids love to flip through your recipe book and pick out their favorites to make -- especially the PB & J Muffins. Thank you for making cooking fun with my kids!"

Purchase the must-have HealthBarn USA Recipe Book with 101 family-friendly, naturally delicious recipes. We promise you will enjoy eating healthy and learning about nutrition without even trying.

Supermarket Spy Kids Report

Beanitos, The Bean Chip

Are you a serious snacker?  We are at the barn, so when one of the HealthBarn USA mom's turned up with these chips for us to try, we got serious.  They are delicious and we can't believe that they are made from beans - and we like them!  Our favorite flavors are the black bean and Chipotle BBQ.  Stacey approves because they are loaded with non-GMO (genetically modified organisms) veggie fiber, protein and omega-3 fatty acids.  For a bonus, they are free of corn and gluten, too. Eat these bean chips plain or dip away with your favorite hummus or guacamole.

What's New at the Barn...

1

It's A New Year and It's All About Doing Things Differently! At HealthBarn USA our #1 priority is teaching children and families how-to live a healthy-lifestyle through a fun, hands-on experience.  No matter where you are in your journey to be healthy, now is the time to embrace new concepts and put them into practice. We put together our top healthy-lifestyle action items to keep it simple and to help you focus and succeed in 2012 and beyond!

  • Be Positive: Keep a positive attitude about new ideas and smile everyday!
  • Eat Fresh Food: Buying fresh food (including frozen veggies) will naturally keep you away from highly processed "boxed" food and cut down on your grocery time by minimizing your food label reading time!
  • Cook at Home: Moms "in the know" are cooking with their kids and sharing simple and fun recipes with family and friends.
  • Grow Food: The best way to appreciate food is by getting your hands dirty.  Don't be overwhelmed with a vegetable garden, start simply by planting a windowsill herb garden and snipping away while cooking.
  • Play: What's your favorite way to play?  Dance, yoga, taking a walk to clear your head, hoola hoop, Wii Fit... go for it everyday!
  • Be Down to Earth: Look for ways to conserve energy (simply switch your light bulbs!) at home to help protect our precious planet -- she needs help!
  • Eat meals as a Family: Focus on sitting at the table and participating in spirited conversations with your family while turning off the TV, phone and blackberry... it's amazing how much you will learn about each other.
These healthy-lifestyle action items are like seedlings that will bring BIG rewards, so get started and see how you and your family will sprout in 2012.  And, if you want the ultimate healthy-lifestyle experience, enroll today for our holiday and/or summer camps and spring programs.

School Enrichment Programs:

Ready to make a difference in kids' lives?  Partner with HealthBarn USA through our enrichment programs because we make a difference in empowering children to make healthy choices.  Click here for the list of our 2012 offerings in school and at the barn. Here are some highlights:

Parents-in-the-know are sharing, "HealthBarn addressed Cliffwood’s second and third graders last spring with an assembly and was phenomenal at making healthy food fun!  Each student interacted during the assembly, a rare feat for an assembly, but critically important as each student actually engaged in whole body learning.  As a result, the assembly was enthusiastically received by the students as well as the 15-20 parent volunteers. Almost a year later, students still say, 'I loved that assembly!  It was my favorite!' The PTO members have been thrilled by the lasting impression HealthBarn left on our students!"

Healthy-Lifestyle School AssemblyEngage your student body in HealthBarn USA's "Try It -- You'll Like It," one-of-a-kind, hands on healthy-lifestyle experience that empowers children of all ages to: try new foods that are nut free, be active, participate in family meals, and much more.  Click here to read the latest testimonials from other schools.  If you haven't experienced the assembly LIVE yet, click here to watch the team and kids in action.  Need a grant?  The Life in Sync 501c3 Charity has approved the HealthBarn USA assembly as a program that it will support financially when schools and/or community organizations apply for a grant. Not in NJ?  HealthBarn USA loves to travel!  Bring this thumbs up assembly to your school district and receive an amazing price package for an experience of a lifetime for students K through 8th grade.

School & Scout Healthy-Lifestyle Field Trips: With nutrition education being a hot topic in schools among administrators, children, the PTO/PTA and parents, our hands-on, one-of-kind field trip is a must-do! The field trip curriculum meets the NJ Core Curriculum Content Standards, 2.1, 2.2, 2.5, 2.6, 5.4, 5.8, 5.10, 8.2 and 9.2. And, the HealthBarn USA experience is a perfect supplement to school curricula.
