Are you interested in growing your own food, composting by starting a garden this spring? Spend Saturday mornings beginning April 17, 2021 (in person) at HealthBarn USA to learn the ins-and-outs of how-to design your own edible garden with founder, Stacey Antine, MS, RDN. All green thumb levels are welcome!
At HealthBarn USA, we nuture an organic garden every spring to provide us with fresh, delicious seasonal fruits, vegetables and herbs all year long. Growing organically is essential to cultivating a healthful, chemical-free garden that is not only good for our health but the environment too.
Stacey is a self-taught gardener who has been gardening for 15+ years. She is excited to guide you into developing your own edible masterpiece. Through taking this course, you will learn the foundational skills to become a proficient gardener in just five weeks with a lot of support and resources.
COVID procedures will be followed and facial masks are required at certain times during the workshop.

Week 1: Science Soil & Composting:
An essential component of creating a healthy garden starts with the soil. Composting provides the garden with the right balance of vitamins and minerals to flourish.
Week 2: Tools and Techniques:
Creating and caring for your garden can be a breeze, if you utilize the right tools and learn the techniques! Knowing these essentials make all the difference in helping your garden thrive.
Week 3: Seeds, Seedlings and Transplanting-
Learning how-to plant to ensure proper growth can be a tricky feat. You will learn the different requirements to prepare seeds and seedlings as well as propagating for success.
Week 4: All About Tomatoes-
From heirlooms to beefsteak tomatoes, the varieties are endless! Create cages and care techniques for an abundance of Jersey fresh deliciousness.
Week 5: Mapping Your Garden & Planting-
Designing your spring garden is one of the most fun steps in the gardening process! This skill will teach you what you need to know create the blueprint for 2021.

HealthBarn USA is located within the Irene Habernickel Family Park at 1057 Hillcrest Road, Ridgewood, NJ. Please drive through the stone pillars and park in the rear parking lot. Enter the stone house, not the white barn.
