About Our Kids Programs
Looking for a wholesome experience for your child to learn where his food comes from, how to cook with his bounty and why it’s good for his body… all while limiting screen time and having a great time? Then, HealthBarn USA is the place to be for you and your family!

- Seedlings, ages 3-5
- Sprouts, ages 5-7
- Pollinators, mixed ages
- Harvesters, ages 8-12
- Master Chefs, ages 12+
- Summer Camp, ages 5-12 & 13-15

- Birthday Parties, ages 3+ (in person & virtual parties)

Our work has attracted notice and praise for one simple reason: We teach children (and the grown-ups who love them) about delicious, nutritious food and the healthy lifestyle that goes with it.
Rachael Ray calls HealthBarn USA “a great idea… I’d love to see a HealthBarn everywhere!”
Former FDA commissioner and one of many physicians to support HealthBarn USA applauded our efforts to “let our children lead the way to a healthier future”.

SPRING
The garden is bursting with life in the springtime! Children help create an organic garden, prepare the soil for planting, learn about seeds and how-to plant them. Over the course of the season, the children excitedly observe the seedlings turn into vibrant plants, herbs and flowers. As they harvest their bounty each week, we create delicious, simple meals and snacks that get thumbs up. Watch their eyes light up as they smell, taste, and truly experience locally grown, seasonal produce from their own garden.
SUMMER
In the summer, the Barn is an exciting and vibrant place to be for children (and the grown-ups who love them). Edible plants are growing rapidly, and need a lot of care, maintenance and nurturing. In our organic teaching garden, the children learn all about bugs – did you know that some insects are good for the garden, and some bugs are not good? They take exciting nature walks and learn to identify different types of plants and animals found in their natural habitats. And of course, we cook with fresh, seasonal produce harvested daily for our garden-to-table camps and Summer Seedlings.

FALL
Fall is the bountiful harvest season at the Barn. The garden is filled with pumpkins, squash and leafy greens that we creatively turn into healthy meals. How we all love the natural foods that we grow, harvest and prepare for ourselves at HealthBarn USA! All of the remaining produce is picked and prepared so that we can use these natural ingredients during the winter months for tasty, healthy recipes. The children also learn about cover crops and fertilizing the soil for protection when the garden goes to sleep for some much deserved rest.
WINTER
You might not believe it but there is a lot to do at the Barn in the wintertime! It is the perfect time for children to sharpen their culinary skills indoors by baking and cooking up the perfect winter storm! More kitchen time, means we can make extensive snacks, meals and desserts from scratch and learn how to create a colorful plate. Learning to read and understand food labels enables children to be in control of their own health and nutrition choices all year long – starting with the New Year!
